As soon as August is over we can live Life again.

....in the end, i didn't receive a single entry in my recent writing contest. 

Lame.

I thought maybe people liked my drawings enough to try to win one by writing some funny nonsense?

I suppose not.

Oh well.

I won't have to draw a prize image now.  Less work for me.

I was planning to hold another contest, one where you guys would help name a character of mine... but i guess there's no point in that now.

Is anyone really out there?  

I still get pageviews every day, but maybe they're all coming from net bots or something?

Anyway.

It'll be August here in a day.  

I once read that August is, scientifically, the least liked month in America.  It's hot, everyone is sick of being hot, there are no holidays, and not really many national events of any importance.

Personally, i don't recall much meaningful stuff happening to me in August, now that i think on it.

The dog days.  One more month of summer.  This summer has been... not really all that good.  I'm ready for fall.

And yes, yes, i'm still technically on hiatus.  I'm still polishing the last of my old works and it'll be about two more weeks of that until i'm done.

I'm... reading articles on what certain jobs require for portfolios.  Concept artist.  Colorist.  Etc.

And i realize, with no small measure of despair, that although i've worked so long and so hard this last decade, i still have SO MUCH FURTHER to go.

But that's okay.  

I'm in this for the long haul.

My head is not in a good place right now, but... it will be.  Soon.  As soon as August is over.  As soon as the heat goes away just a little bit.  As soon as i wrap up all this old work and have a clean slate.  As soon as fall begins, things will improve.  It's all moving into place.
