Aaaaaargh.

On second thought, maybe i won't have a slam-bang awesome entry for that Outcast Odyssey Contest after all...

...these DeviantArt Contests just FUCK with my head, they really do.  Every time they announce one, i say to myself -- self, you're gonna win that contest!

And then i put off starting my entry, because there are still four weeks...

...and then three weeks, because of course i want to finish the drawings i've already started...

...and then two weeks, because that's plenty of time...

...and then i start some sketches, but i spent most of my time sketching something else...

...and then i obsessively browse the entries, and realize how great some of them are... and i have to start over, because what i've sketched out isn't nearly good enough to beat them...

...and then there's five days left until the deadline.  Is that enough time?  Not really.  Enough time to half-ass something, but not enough time to create a masterpiece...

...and then i remember how in the previous contests i entered, i never even made the semifinal cut.  What's the point of having some industry bigwig be the judge if they never even see your entry?

...and finally i say, forget it, i'm just going to work on a new commish for one of my loyal customers.  That's guaranteed to be worthwhile, both financially and on a personal level, because it's not just some random shot in the dark.

And then, i despair.

Sigh.

On top of everything else, i've been working six days per week again.  The one day off i have at my desk?  It's not enough time, after laundry and cleaning and cooking and walking the dogs and everything else.

I always want to rush ahead and finish the thing i'm working on to get to the next thing.  And i have to stop doing that.  That last pic i submitted, the one of Aries Passadar?  I worked for a long time on that one.  That's what i have to do this year.  Really... take... the time.  If i end 2015 with only 75 pics, but they're mad complex, then it will be worth it.

Huh... the other day, i saw that new Venture Brothers special, "All This and Gargantua-2."  

It was super neat, although i didn't recognize about half of the characters in it... because for some reason utterly unknown to me, i.... stopped watching the Venture Brothers after the second season?

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME.

I need to go back and catch up.

Not watching the Venture Brothers, what was i thinking.

Sigh.
